Autumn/Winter is my favourite season in fashion. Forgetting snotty noses, grey days, drizzly rain, and the long winded un-layering that occurs whenever you go from the frosty outdoors to overheated shop/office/cafe and back again, it’s so much fun to rug up in lush knits, chic boots, an amazing coat, and hide bad hair days under a cute beanie.
Here’s 3 key looks to start the season off – trendy but not fashion victim, easy to wear but not boring (er, I hope!):
1) Casual
The boyfriend jean is still a big look, but unless you’re blessed with model proportions look for a style that’s still quite fitted for the most flattering take. Wear them cuffed with vintage style brogues, a luxe lightweight knit and a short, sharp jacket for an easy (and comfy!) daytime look.

GRAB Skinny Boyfriend jeans $159.95

Maxshop Merino Layering Top $89

Edit Cameron Tux $149.00

Nude Coconut Brogues $129.95
2) Evening
If there’s one look you should try this season, make it one-shouldered. Modern and chic without being the type of style you’ll look back on and cringe, try it for evening in top form with classy trousers and killer heels (I’ve heard many times about how pants are “in” this season. Helpfully, tops also seem to be all the rage...)
While you’re there, add some must-have stud embellishments for an on-trend but understatedly glam party style!

Mimosa Galaxy top $139.95

Blue Juice Coco Pants $89.95

Tony Bianco Jatz Heel $120.95
3) The failsafe outfit
Not sure about statement shoulders, biker jeans or tapered trousers? Never fear, an outfit along the lines of this little baby will have you looking stylish, instead of over-styled:
A printed dress – a simple cut means you can easily layer, but a cute vintage style floral print adds interest and makes it suitably girly:

Sportsgirl 40’s floral dress $79.95
A draped longline cardi – an effortlessly chic coverup to throw over the dress for cool days, but still wear under a coat when it’s really chilly:

Asos Waterfall Cardigan approx $58
A classic trench – Burberry haven’t changed theirs for 70-odd years, and there’s a reason why: instant sophistication to make the girly florals of the dress and soft drapes of the cardi just that little bit dressier!

BB Dakota Beige Trench Coat US$90
Ankle Boots – worn with tights or alone, these are versatile, dressy and easy to walk in – 3 big ticks!

Siren Poet Boot $169.95 |
