Gin Wigmore has teamed up with The Cardinals to create 'Holy Smoke', an album that is receiving rave reviews. Gin was born in Aukland, NZ and at just 23 she is making headlines due to her unique (and amazing) voice.

We adore Gin, and she recently sat down and answered some questions for us:
B&L: What was it like working with The Cardinals on your album "Holy Smoke?"
Gin: Life changing. Being around them even for a moment has improved my standard as a musician in every way. The record musically sounds killer because of their involvement.
B&L: How would you describe your latest music?
Gin: Punchy, upbeat and a real adventure through all the emotions..
B&L: How did you get discovered?
Gin: A huge part of me being discovered was the International Songwriting Competition. That's kind of where it all began and then more and more wonderful people got involved after that. Kind of like a snowball effect for me I think.
B&L: What other Aussie / New Zealand artists do you love right now?
Gin: Little Birdy is on constant repeat right now and also this little Melbourne band called The Wildes. Keep an eye out for them because they are really bloody good!
B&L: Where do you get your inspiration?
Gin: Boys, break-ups and life.
B&L: What is one crazy thing your fans wouldn't know about you?
Gin: I knocked my front tooth out, roots and all last New Years. Gruesome yet hilarious all at the same time. The bad part was I had to walk around like Cledis for 3 days until the Dentist re-opened on the 3rd. Desperate and dateless indeed!

B&L: Have you always wanted to be a singer / songwriter?
Gin: Nope. I wanted to be a primary school teacher. I will definitely do that someday, but for now I am totally obsessed with music.
B&L: What is it like hearing your music on the radio?
Gin: It's awesome. I don't think it ever won't be.
B&L: Do you get nervous when performing in front of a live audience?
Gin: Course I do! I am human after all. But I think it's good to get nervous as it keeps me in check for how much I really care and want every show to be really awesome for my fans.
B&L: Tell us about your fashion style...
Gin: Lots of sexy bodysuits, leather, jeans and killer heels.
B&L: What's next for Gin Wigmore?
Gin: Tour Aussie and NZ for the next wee bit and then take on the states in 2010.
B&L: What does being a woman mean to you?
Gin: Everything. I love it. I feel women have an amazing place in this world today. We are liberated and free to do anything we want and so for that reason alone I am going to try and do as many things as possible in this life.
