Bo's Art - The Opera Collection

Stainless steel wire mesh is no longer for ‘industrial use only.’ Designers Bozenna and Lukasz Bogucki use metal to create handbags that are luxurious and feminine.

Pairing stainless steel wire mesh with the silhouettes and form of vintage purses, Bo’s Art has created a collection of handbags that have 21st century sophistication.

The Opera Collection handbags are constructed of multiple layers of fine stainless steel mesh of varying weights and textures. The artists’ treatment of the steel gives it the appearance of shiny ribbons, zebra prints, silk moiré or a matte finish.

Bozenna gained recognition for her haute couture collection of evening dresses. Lukasz became known for creating lamps of paper, fiberglass, metal and stainless steel wire mesh. The designers blended her fashion sense, with his knowledge of technology to create the Opera Collection handbags and jewellery.

Designers Bozenna and Lukasz Bogucki use 24 karat gold plating, 23 karat gold leaf copper and brass to give the bags the desired colours and textures. With the exception of the silver or gold-toned snake chains used as shoulder straps, the bags are constructed entirely of stainless steel.

Each bag is individually constructed and is named after a well known opera, hence the name ‘The Opera Collection’. There are currently 35 styles in the multiple colours and textures. The artists also customize bags when requested.

The Bo’s Art Opera Collection range of handbags and purses is a unique and interesting concept of design. I recently received the Manon style in Steel Ribbon (pictured) and am very impressed with the quality and feel of the bag.

The use of steel wire mesh to create a handbag may sound strange, but in reality the creative team Bozenna and Lukasz have done an amazing job of creating this glamorous collection of fashionable bags.

The Manon is a classic clutch, and yes, would be perfect not only to take to the opera, but also for dressing up a simple outfit. The bags offer elegance which is not seen often these days, and the Manon is the perfect size for the most essential items. While it is small enough to hold in your hand, it also comes with a detachable carry strap for a slightly different look.

High quality bags, that will remain fashionable over time, and a great investment for your wardrobe.
